Software Engineer - Core Database

About the role

Join the Kernel team to build the foundational components of our graph database, including storage engines, transaction management, and indexing. This role involves solving complex computer science problems within an international group based in London and Malmö.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Develop and release features for the core graph database engine.
• Write efficient, testable, and high-quality code.
• Participate in roadmap planning and feature discussions.
• Incorporate findings from academic research into the product core.
• Utilize dedicated time for independent product enhancements and integrations.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Java or a C-style programming language.
• Experience designing multi-threaded systems and algorithms.
• Deep understanding of data structures and system design.
• Ability to lead and deliver technical development projects.
• Strong troubleshooting, performance profiling, and optimization skills.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to engage in intellectually honest technical discussions.
