About the role
Join Neo4j as a Federal Consulting Engineer supporting government clients with graph database implementations. You will serve as the technical authority on Neo4j deployments, working directly with customer engineering teams from initial design through production launch. This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Full-Scope Polygraph.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Guide and participate in every stage of Neo4j implementation for customer projects
- Provide hands-on coding, technical guidance, training, and production readiness support during consulting engagements
- Create solution architectures tailored to customer technical needs
- Build working prototypes that showcase Neo4j capabilities for specific use cases
- Prepare technical proposals for customer engineering and leadership teams
- Drive technical requirements gathering, data modeling, data ingestion development, testing, and visualization work
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Full-Scope Polygraph
- Bachelor degree
- 3-5+ years designing and building enterprise applications
- Strong background in database technologies and data modeling, ideally with a major Big Data or analytics vendor
- Experience with complex data analysis, data migrations, and system integration
- Solid object-oriented programming abilities
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Knowledge of access management and data security practices
- Track record on complex, client-facing projects
- Proficiency with source control tools such as Git, SVN, or Perforce
- Ability to advise and collaborate with engineering teams
- Quick learner with new technologies and languages
- Comfortable training and educating small groups
- Strong listening skills and attention to detail
- Capable of working independently and remotely within a cross-functional organization
Nice to have
- Prior consulting experience within a Professional Services Organization
- Multiple years working with graph databases such as Neo4j, OrientDB, TitanDB, or similar
- Familiarity with J2EE/Java EE, JavaScript, Docker, Spring, Kubernetes
- Hands-on development with Java/J2EE, middleware, design patterns, JUnit, and database technologies
- Cloud platform experience with AWS or Azure
- Knowledge of visualization tools and frameworks including D3, Sigma.js, Linkurious, or Sawyer
- Web application development experience using React or Angular
