Event Travel Manager at Navan
About the role
This position will deliver exceptional event travel management services to Navan's clientele. You will cultivate strong relationships with clients and internal teams, sharing market insights to support event planning objectives and drive revenue while ensuring client return on investment.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients within the Event Travel Department, supporting US-based operations.
- Provide personalized travel assistance to clients, resolving issues before, during, and after their trips, including managing bookings for flights, hotels, and ground transportation.
- Offer detailed information on travel fares for various booking types.
- Collaborate with client representatives to understand and achieve program goals.
- Document project details to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and company policies.
- Utilize internal tools to troubleshoot and assist travelers effectively.
- Oversee program planning from the post-sale phase through to final invoicing.
- Participate in team discussions to stay informed about new offerings, industry trends, and team initiatives.
- Continuously enhance knowledge of the travel industry and platform capabilities.
- Undergo training on Navan and Reed & Mackay systems.
- Provide support to the Team Lead.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience in group travel planning.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Familiarity with Navan TravelXen and experience with travel bookings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Suite, with the ability to learn new technologies.
- Experience conducting client-facing video calls for setup and project oversight.
- Knowledge of internal communication platforms like Slack.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and quickly resolve urgent issues.
- A professional demeanor and empathetic approach.
- Experience adapting and succeeding in a rapidly growing company environment.
- 4+ years of Global Distribution System (GDS) experience, including Sabre with PNR creation and ticketing. Experience with Amadeus and NDC is beneficial.
- Independent problem-solving skills using available resources.
- Proven success in building and maintaining client relationships.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a history of positive customer satisfaction outcomes.
- Reliability and flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
- An interest in travel and a foundational understanding of world geography.
