About the role

This position combines clinical phlebotomy duties with operational oversight for a Patient Service Center. You will manage daily specimen collection workflows while supervising phlebotomy staff to ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to company standards.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Collect blood specimens using venipuncture and finger stick techniques while maintaining aseptic conditions.
• Verify patient identities and cross-reference test orders with requisition documentation.
• Track specimen collection data and maintain daily tallies in company systems.
• Report key performance indicators to product management leadership every two weeks.
• Manage phlebotomy equipment and handle supply logistics, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Oversee vendor relationships and resolve escalated scheduling or service issues.
• Train and onboard new phlebotomy staff to support patient volume growth.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, PHI privacy regulations, and JCAHO standards.
• Address and report any quality control, SPI, CAPA, or NCR issues to leadership.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in phlebotomy.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in high-level customer care.
• If your state mandates a phlebotomy license, you must include it with your application.
• Ability to handle PHI in both paper and electronic formats.
• Completion of required security and compliance training within the first 30 days of employment.

Nice to have

• BS or BA degree.
• Experience managing or supervising phlebotomy teams and operations.
• Previous experience with budgets and financial tracking.
• Bilingual language skills.
• Phlebotomy certification.

Skills & tools

• General knowledge of mobile and standard phlebotomy services.
• Proficiency in online program management tools.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
