Oncology Pathology Assist Temp Position

About the role

This role supports the Signatera team by providing expert review of pathology reports. You will help acquire appropriate specimens for minimal residual disease testing in oncology.

What you'll do

• Review oncology pathology reports to identify the best samples for testing when initial ones are insufficient.
• Accurately record clinical history, diagnoses, and specimen details in the Signatera sample database.
• Assist in developing methods to organize and retrieve data from various databases.
• Maintain knowledge of diagnostic data organization according to current WHO guidelines.
• Act as a subject matter expert on pathology reports for internal teams including Laboratory Director, Genetic Counseling, Customer Experience, Sales, and Clinical Trials.
• Flag samples collected at suboptimal times or under poor fixative conditions to the Laboratory Director.
• Support Genetic Counseling and Customer Experience teams in obtaining additional necessary samples.
• Provide organized data support for the Clinical Trial team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• Certification as a Histology Technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or an equivalent board.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in anatomic pathology, with significant knowledge of solid tumor pathology.

Skills & tools

• Ability to interpret and communicate information from anatomic pathology reports for various solid tumors, including lung, colon, and breast cancer.
• Skill in identifying diagnostic samples that will lead to successful testing.
• Strong communication abilities with internal teams and external pathology laboratories.
• Capacity to build relationships with referring pathology laboratories.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to think broadly and work independently.
