About the role
This position involves overseeing daily phlebotomy operations and ensuring high standards in patient care coordination and specimen handling. You will guide a team, manage workflows, and contribute to operational improvements. The role requires a hands-on approach, including potentially performing phlebotomy duties when necessary.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Support the coordination and completion of audits.
- Monitor patient coordination activities and specimen documentation for quality, including use of the MPX platform.
- Assist with preparations for onsite visits and observe staff to ensure adherence to procedures and identify areas for enhancement.
- Provide daily guidance and support to the Phlebotomy Solutions team.
- Supervise, mentor, and train phlebotomists, including managing recruitment and onboarding.
- Ensure team members follow specimen handling protocols and EMR documentation requirements.
- Address and resolve issues that could affect operational performance.
- Manage and track supply needs for the team.
- Collaborate with Field Sales, Clinical Operations, and Compliance to resolve issues and ensure effective patient support.
- Facilitate team meetings to share updates, best practices, and Natera's standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience.
- Phlebotomy Certificate as required by state regulations.
Skills & tools
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Proficient in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and time management.
- Familiarity with clinical compliance standards.
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to have
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience in a clinical or laboratory operations setting.
Practical notes
- This role requires up to 50% travel for audits, site visits, and team support.
- Must adhere to clinical safety standards and wear appropriate attire, such as scrubs, when on-site.
