N26 is actively seeking an ICT Risk Assessment Manager to join the Information Risk Management (IRM) Segment and work at the heart of ICT Compliance. You will ensure that every control, policy, and risk assessment strengthens the organization's position as an industry leader. In this role, you will
You will lead the complete lifecycle of ICT risk assessments, managing the process from initial risk identification through execution to final remediation monitoring. A core responsibility involves executing and coordinating ICT Risk Assessments and ICT Audits for third-party tools and services. This requires close collaboration with Third-Party service providers, Product Owners, Security Engineers, and Data Privacy teams.
You will provide technical and quality oversight regarding ICT risks, controls, and technologies. This includes making ongoing risk decisions, overseeing control implementation, and proposing concrete improvement opportunities. The role demands that you act as a subject matter expert, translating complex technical risks into clear, actionable insights for both business and technical teams. You will conduct security impact assessments on ICT assets and business processes.
A further key duty is the development of KPIs and KRIs to support the monitoring of ICT third-party risks. You will ensure robust reporting to the second line of defense. You will identify gaps in current frameworks and lead improvement efforts designed to streamline team efficiency and drive automation. The role also involves coaching and mentoring new hires and junior colleagues through knowledge-sharing, hands-on guidance, and structured feedback. Building strong stakeholder relationships through proactive engagement, clear communication, and alignment with organizational priorities is essential.
What you need to be successful
To succeed in this position, you must bring 4 to 5 years of experience in information security, ICT Risk Management, or ICT audits. Previous experience in the banking or FinTech sector is highly preferred, with a specific understanding of MaRisk and DORA requirements. You must have proven experience working in a fast-paced, technology-driven business environment, such as a scaled startup. Collaboration with security engineers, software developers, product managers, and IT auditors is a daily reality.
A strong sense of ownership is crucial, demonstrated by the ability to inherit workflows, identify weaknesses, and independently implement optimizations. Hands-on experience or advanced knowledge of leveraging AI tools to optimize workflows and overall team productivity is required. You must possess the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders of all levels. Holding relevant certifications such as CISA, CISM, or CRISC is a significant advantage.

Your approach to analyzing technical evidence and documenting findings must be detail-oriented and rigorous. You will demonstrate a hands-on mentality, being eager to suggest, test, and implement process improvements. Fluency in English is strictly required, while knowledge of the German language is a definite plus.
