Senior Engineer, Vehicle Integration

This role focuses on integrating autonomous driving systems into vehicles. You will work on the hardware and software interfaces that bring self-driving technology to life. Your contributions will directly impact the functionality and performance of Motional's autonomous fleet.

What you'll do

• Define and manage the requirements for integrating autonomous vehicle components.
• Collaborate with various engineering teams to ensure system compatibility and performance.
• Develop and implement test plans for vehicle integration, verifying functionality and safety.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware and software interactions within the vehicle.
• Document integration processes, specifications, and test results.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of integration methodologies and tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Five or more years of experience in vehicle integration or related systems engineering.
• Experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, or LIN.
• Understanding of vehicle electrical architectures and power distribution systems.
• Proficiency in C++ or Python for scripting and system interaction.
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing.

Nice to have

• Master's degree or PhD in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience with autonomous vehicle systems or robotics.
• Familiarity with functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262).
• Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and control systems.
