Senior Data Scientist, Systems Performance

About the role

This position focuses on analyzing and optimizing the performance of autonomous vehicle systems. You will work with large-scale data to evaluate how our technology functions in real-world scenarios and drive improvements across the fleet.

What you'll do

• Analyze performance metrics from autonomous vehicle operations to identify trends and areas for technical improvement.
• Develop data-driven insights that inform engineering decisions regarding vehicle safety and reliability.
• Create automated reporting tools and dashboards to track system behavior over time.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to validate software updates and system changes.
• Design experiments to test the impact of new algorithms on vehicle performance.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
• Demonstrated professional experience in data science, specifically working with complex, high-volume datasets.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and hypothesis testing.
• Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience working within the autonomous vehicle or robotics industry.
• Background in time-series analysis or geospatial data.
• Familiarity with cloud computing environments for data processing.

Skills & tools

• Python or R for data analysis.
• SQL for database querying.
• Data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or similar.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks and statistical modeling.
