Senior Financial Reporting Analyst

About the role

Monzo is looking for a proactive and commercially focused analyst to join the Financial Reporting team. You will help scale our finance function while supporting our growth into new markets and product lines.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Draft management commentary by analyzing business and product performance.
• Collaborate with engineering and data teams to automate reporting production.
• Optimize the use of our accounting system to reduce manual processes.
• Maintain and scale financial reporting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Manage the year-end process, including annual report drafting and auditor coordination.
• Evaluate the accounting impact of new products and contracts before implementation.
• Assist with ESG sustainability disclosures and reporting.
• Prepare monthly management reports and provide analysis on financial movements.
• Support the month-end close process and handle ad-hoc finance inquiries.

Requirements

• Fully qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA or CA).
• Professional background in audit.
• Experience with financial reporting and internal controls outside of practice.
• Ability to explain complex financial information to diverse audiences.
• Strong attention to detail and a self-starting mindset.
• Understanding of the banking and regulatory landscape.

Nice to have

• Experience in a listed company or a regulated financial services environment.
• Knowledge of US reporting or SOX compliance.
• Strong commercial financial acumen and business partnering skills.
• Background in ESG reporting or auditing sustainability data.
