Your role will involve collaborating with customers to ensure they achieve optimal results using our products.

What you'll do
- Collaborate with major clients to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to architecture, performance, recovery, security, and more.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource on best practices for managing MongoDB at various scales, advocating for customer needs with product management and development teams.
- Participate in internal projects aimed at enhancing support tools for performance, diagnostics, and benchmarking.
- Mentor new team members and actively contribute to expanding knowledge of MongoDB's product offerings.
Requirements
- Experience in systems engineering, particularly with Linux performance, memory management, I/O tuning, configuration, security, networking, clusters, and troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including DNS, TCP/IP, and SSL/TLS.
- Background in storage engineering, encompassing NAS, SAN, SSD, multi-pathing, and caching.
- Proven experience in building and maintaining complex, mission-critical production database systems.
- Proficiency in reading code and basic coding/scripting skills in languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, C, C++, C#, JavaScript, Node.js, or Go.
- Comprehensive awareness of customer workloads and use cases, focusing on performance, availability, and scalability.
- Ability to analyze issues comprehensively, from the application layer to the database and storage.
- Strong desire to assist customers and a calm demeanor under pressure, with real-time problem-solving skills.
- Eagerness to learn new technical skills quickly and effectively.
- Collaborative mindset, with the ability to seek help from team members when necessary.
Nice to have
- Experience managing large-scale databases, including RDBMS and NoSQL.
- Familiarity with authentication systems like LDAP, Kerberos, or Active Directory.
- Prior experience using or managing MongoDB.
- Knowledge of distributed version control systems, particularly Git.
- Experience with cloud service platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or other orchestration systems utilizing vendor-specific enterprise operators.
Special Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Success Measures
- Within three months, you will gain a thorough understanding of MongoDB and complete New Hire Training.
- By six months, you will be comfortable providing frontline support to customers and will have completed the MongoDB Certified DBA Associate exam.
- After a year, you will be recognized as a technical specialist within MongoDB, assisting peers with advanced diagnostics and managing technical escalations independently.

MongoDB's base salary range for this position is as follows. Compensation will be tailored to each candidate based on various factors, including skills, experience, qualifications, and work location. This salary is part of a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. Eligible employees may also receive equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, fully-paid parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, a 401(k) plan, mental health support, and health benefits. Please note that the salary range and benefits mentioned are applicable only to candidates based in the U.S.
MongoDB's base salary range for this role in the U.S. is: $90,000 - $176,000 USD.
