Senior Engineer

About the role

The Senior Engineer role at MongoDB involves working on critical internal tools and platforms to drive technical decisions and contribute to systems that support essential workflows. This position is part of a new internal engineering team that works alongside the Internal Engineering department. The ideal candidate will take ownership of internal systems and drive technical improvements. The role is based in Gurugram and follows a hybrid working model.

What you'll do

• Take ownership of critical internal tools and platforms
• Drive technical decisions and contribute to systems that support essential workflows
• Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions
• Identify and proactively address technical debt, reliability risks, and scalability concerns

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Deep experience with at least one modern programming language
• Strong technical judgment and the ability to independently solve complex engineering problems
• Excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating across teams and disciplines
• Experience working with modern infrastructure and delivery systems, including containerized applications, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tooling

Nice to have

• Experience building and maintaining full-stack applications
• Experience designing systems or services used by other engineers or teams
• Knowledge of technologies such as Next.js, FastAPI, or React

Skills & tools

• Modern programming languages such as Python, Go, or Rust
• Containerized applications, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tooling
