About the role

The AI Scientist in an Entrepreneur in Residence capacity at Molecule operates at the intersection of autonomous systems and discovery science. This role requires you to conceive and direct fleets of purpose-built scientific agents that operate across the entire innovation pipeline. You will own the end-to-end process from raw literature signals through target validation to candidate generation and IP creation. Each fleet you build must be deployable against a chosen disease area and pushed toward a concrete, high-value endpoint. These endpoints include validated targets, candidate molecules, curated datasets, and blockchain-anchored IP-NFTs that capture discoveries. You will run several of these fleets concurrently, maintaining a clear line of sight and direct reporting to the CEO on progress and outcomes. Ultimately, you define what rigorous, autonomous science looks like within the Molecule protocol, setting standards that others will follow.

Requirements

• You need Entrepreneurial mindset who ships without waiting for permission.
• Technically deep across LLMs, agent frameworks, and at least one wet-science domain (chemistry, biology, pharma, structural biology, genomics).
• Comfortable with ambiguity and operating as the only person knowing how to do the work.
• Credential-agnostic: PhD/MSc/BSc or equivalent output; top-tier institution degree if held.
• All-in on intensity: willing to live on-site for 4 weeks and operate at founder pace.
