Quality Control Lead

Misfits Market is a high-growth company focused on reducing food waste by delivering affordable, sustainable groceries to 48 states. As a Quality Control Lead, you will monitor food safety and product standards across the warehouse to ensure our deliveries meet customer expectations.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Conduct regular inspections of produce and grocery items at all stages, including inbound, storage, production, and outbound.
• Document all findings, including damaged or discarded items, and maintain accurate records and databases.
• Perform temperature and pressure checks on inbound shipments to validate quality.
• Segregate and label non-conforming products for rejection or sorting.
• Monitor shelf-life for backstock and storage inventory.
• Identify and escalate food safety concerns to the Quality Supervisor immediately.
• Train new team members on company quality processes.
• Act as the department representative in the absence of the Quality Supervisor or QA Lead.
• Follow all state and local regulations for food facility operations.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to work in a refrigerated environment maintained at 36 degrees.
• Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively.
• Ability to stand, squat, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, repetitive warehouse setting.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Availability to work overtime or weekends based on business needs.

Nice to have

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish.
• Prior work experience in a food-based environment.

Skills & tools

• Basic mathematical computation for audits and cycle counts.
• Database and spreadsheet management.
