Senior Product Manager, External APIs

About the role

You will manage the strategy and lifecycle for the Mindbody external API ecosystem used by enterprise clients and integration partners. This role focuses on treating APIs as a core product to improve developer experience and drive ecosystem growth.

What you'll do

• Define the roadmap, governance, and design standards for external APIs, including authentication, versioning, and rate limiting.
• Improve the end-to-end developer experience by managing documentation, sandbox environments, and onboarding workflows.
• Partner with the internal sales and partnerships teams to identify high-value integration opportunities.
• Manage the go-to-market process for API updates, ensuring smooth communication for deprecations and new feature launches.
• Establish success metrics for the ecosystem, such as partner activation, integration reliability, and overall adoption rates.
• Act as the primary advocate for external developers by translating integration feedback into technical requirements.

Requirements

• Proven history of managing technical or platform products from conception to delivery.
• Ability to collaborate with engineering teams on complex architecture, security, and data privacy topics.
• Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders to align commercial goals with technical roadmaps.
• Proficiency in using data to prioritize initiatives and report on platform performance.
• Demonstrated capacity to lead complex projects across departments without direct authority.

Nice to have

• Experience working specifically with public-facing or external APIs.
• Familiarity with OAuth, API gateways, and developer portal tooling.
