Join the Microsoft Shopping team to enhance the online shopping experience for users. This role focuses on developing distributed services and optimizing performance to support shopping functionalities. You will work with a team to implement features that improve scalability and automate workflows, all while utilizing AI technologies.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather user requirements for various scenarios.
• Identify dependencies and create design documents for products, applications, services, or platforms.
• Write, optimize, debug, and refactor code to enhance performance and maintainability.
• Work alongside platform, infrastructure, and application engineers, as well as designers and product managers, to develop next-generation shopping solutions.
• Stay updated on new trends and technologies to improve product availability, reliability, and performance while ensuring consistency in monitoring and operations.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, along with at least 2 years of experience in software engineering, coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• A Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 3+ years of experience in software engineering, coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 5+ years of experience in software engineering, coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in developing distributed systems.
• At least 2 years of experience working with microservices.

Skills & tools

• Proficiency in programming languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture.

Practical notes

Starting January 26, 2026, employees in the U.S. living within 50 miles of a Microsoft office or 25 miles of a non-U.S. location are expected to work from the office at least four days a week, subject to local laws.

The salary range for this position in the U.S. is between USD $102,100 and $202,200 annually, with higher ranges applicable in specific locations like the San Francisco Bay area and New York City.

This role will remain open for a minimum of 5 days, with applications accepted continuously until filled.
