About the role
The Development Researcher supports our fundraising goals by identifying and evaluating potential donors, including individuals, foundations, and corporations. You will manage the production of essential research documentation and assist the broader department with daily operational tasks.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Analyze the philanthropic capacity and interests of prospective donors to guide fundraising strategy.
- Draft confidential donor briefings and detailed research reports for use by the fundraising team.
- Use screening tools such as iWave, LexisNexis, and Altrata to verify prospect data.
- Coordinate with the Analytics and Development Operations teams to fulfill research requests.
- Update and maintain donor records within the Tessitura database.
- Track business news and philanthropic trends to provide timely updates on prospects.
- Implement new technologies and AI tools to increase the efficiency of research workflows.
- Uphold departmental standards for data integrity and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree.
- Minimum of two to four years of professional research experience within a non-profit organization.
- Strong writing and proofreading abilities with a focus on grammar and precision.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with complete discretion.
- Capability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Capacity to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
