Key facts

What you'll do

• Architect, build, and guide the long-term vision for core systems supporting fraud detection.
• Lead significant projects from concept to completion, translating complex problems into actionable plans and driving measurable results.
• Develop and maintain highly available, low-latency backend services for real-time risk scoring and decisioning.
• Collaborate with Data Science and Machine Learning teams to deploy models and establish reliable data pipelines.
• Set and improve engineering standards, review system designs, and advise on architectural choices.
• Mentor other engineers, share knowledge, and contribute to technical direction.
• Work with various stakeholders to align teams, communicate technical trade-offs, and resolve inter-team challenges.

Requirements

• 7-10+ years of backend software development experience.
• Proven experience as a technical lead, making architectural decisions and understanding their long-term effects.
• Ability to clearly articulate technical viewpoints and discuss trade-offs.
• Experience building and launching new products, balancing stability and development speed.
• Comfort and initiative in driving discussions in areas with unclear ownership.
• A proactive approach to helping colleagues and sharing knowledge.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, fraud systems, or risk management.
• Familiarity with or interest in learning Haskell.

Practical notes

• US employees (any location) base salary range: $239,000 - $298,800
• Canadian employees (any location) base salary range: CAD 225,900 - 282,400
• Total compensation includes base salary, equity (stock options), and benefits.
