About the role
Mercury provides banking solutions for startups, enabling them to manage their finances securely and productively. The Treasury team is responsible for building the financial products that help founders put their idle cash to work, offering safety and yield. This role involves contributing to systems that manage billions of dollars in customer funds.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead significant projects that span engineering, operations, compliance, and risk to develop dependable and scalable systems.
- Influence the technical direction and user experience of the Treasury product.
- Work with product, design, and operations teams to deliver valuable features for customers and internal users.
- Take ownership of product areas and actively contribute to the future development of Mercury.
- Join a team of engineers managing substantial customer assets.
Requirements
- Experience with Haskell or a programming language with similar static typing or functional programming characteristics.
- Demonstrated experience as a technical lead on complex projects with multiple stakeholders, achieving successful outcomes.
- Proven ability to make architectural decisions and assess their long-term impact, articulating technical viewpoints and trade-offs.
- Experience mentoring engineers at both junior and senior levels.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with colleagues and cross-functional partners.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with broker-dealer trading or custody systems that handle individual securities, ETFs, and mutual funds.

- US employees (any location) base salary range: $166,600 - $263,450.
- Canadian employees (any location) base salary range: CAD $157,400 - $248,950.
