About the role
Mercury is building lending solutions to empower growing businesses with fast and fair access to capital. We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the development of our business lending products from concept to launch and beyond. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, customer advocacy, and technical understanding to create a product that is both responsible and user-friendly.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Define the overall vision, strategic direction, and product roadmap for Mercury's business lending offerings.
- Oversee the complete customer experience, from initial eligibility and application through to funding, servicing, and repayment.
- Collaborate with risk and data science teams to build underwriting and decisioning systems that balance speed and approval rates with credit and compliance requirements.
- Work with design and engineering to ensure the application process is intuitive, transparent, and builds trust with business owners.
- Partner with banking partners, legal, and compliance to ensure the product meets all regulatory and operational standards.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators such as conversion rates, approval and decline percentages, time to fund, loss performance, repayment success, and customer satisfaction to guide priorities.
- Utilize customer feedback, market analysis, and data to inform product development decisions and make informed trade-offs.
- Coordinate with marketing, sales, and support teams for successful product launches and customer outreach.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years in product management or a related field, including at least 2 years focused on lending, credit, payments, or other regulated financial services.
- Demonstrated experience in building and scaling lending businesses.
- A solid understanding of the lending lifecycle, encompassing origination, underwriting, servicing, and repayment, along with associated risk and compliance considerations.
- Proven ability to deliver customer-facing products, including those utilizing AI, and to iterate based on user needs.
- Technical proficiency, enabling effective collaboration with engineers and data scientists, and the ability to communicate complex topics to business, risk, and compliance teams.
- Strong empathy for customers, coupled with the discipline to balance growth objectives with credit, compliance, and operational realities.
- A history of using data and experimentation to drive decisions and achieve measurable results.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and establishing direction in a rapidly evolving, new product area.

Practical notes
- Salary range for US employees: $200,700 - $250,900 USD.
- Salary range for Canadian employees: CAD 189,700 - 237,100 CAD.
- Compensation includes base salary, equity (stock options/RSUs), and benefits.
