Senior Product Designer - Core Mobile Experiences

About the role

Mercury is building financial tools for entrepreneurs, designed to be fast and intuitive for those managing their businesses on the go. We are seeking a Senior Product Designer to shape the future of our native mobile applications. This role involves defining and executing a distinct mobile strategy, distinct from our web platform.

What you'll do

• Lead the overall vision and execution for Mercury's native iOS and Android applications.
• Explore and implement advanced interaction design, motion, and visual language possibilities within native environments.
• Develop and champion a clear perspective on mobile product strategy across the company.
• Collaborate closely with experienced engineers to enhance product quality and design standards.
• Manage significant projects from initial concept through to launch, ensuring user impact.
• Elevate the quality of interaction, visual design, and product thinking within the design team.
• Contribute to and advance our design systems and cross-platform patterns.

Requirements

• 6 to 8 years of experience in product design, with significant focus on native mobile (iOS and/or Android).
• Proven ability to design complex, interconnected systems, not just isolated features.
• A strong and unique visual style that is evident in your portfolio.
• Capacity to work independently and drive initiatives forward with minimal direction.
• Excellent communication skills to build relationships and advocate for design decisions.
• Enthusiasm for native mobile capabilities, preferring native development over cross-platform solutions like React Native.
