Senior IT Auditor at Mercury
About the role
Mercury is building a comprehensive financial platform for startups. We aim to provide the simplest and most secure banking experience to ease the financial burdens of entrepreneurs. This involves not only creating a strong banking platform but also ensuring the trust and safety of our users and the financial ecosystem. We are seeking a Senior IT Auditor to bolster our Internal Audit team and contribute to our audit plan execution.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Identify, analyze, and evaluate IT, cybersecurity, and data security risks across Mercury.
- Define the scope and plan multiple audits covering Mercury's products and operations.
- Conduct process reviews and perform testing to verify the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Assess adherence to Mercury's compliance commitments.
- Communicate, document, and report identified audit findings.
- Partner with teams to create remediation plans, monitor progress, and re-test resolved issues.
Requirements
- Experience in scoping and planning complex audits.
- Proficiency in conducting process walkthroughs, developing audit test plans, and testing internal controls.
- Experience working with financial services organizations and understanding their regulatory and risk management standards.
- Familiarity with IT control frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or COBIT.
- Exposure to cloud environments like AWS and their associated security controls.
- Experience with security and threat assessments.
- Ability to quickly understand intricate business processes.
- Skill in building relationships and collaborating cross-functionally to meet time-sensitive objectives, track issues, and report findings.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Capability to manage personal workload to meet deadlines.
- A proactive approach with a drive for innovation and efficiency improvements.

- Total compensation includes base salary, equity (stock options/RSUs), and benefits.
- Salary ranges are competitive within the SaaS and fintech sectors and are updated regularly based on industry compensation data. Offers are determined by candidate experience, expertise, location, and internal pay equity.
- US employees in NYC, Los Angeles, Seattle, or San Francisco Bay Area: $132,400 - $165,500 USD.
- US employees outside of NYC, Los Angeles, Seattle, or San Francisco Bay Area: $119,200 - $149,000 USD.
- Canadian employees (any location): CAD $125,100 - $156,400.
