Key facts
What you'll do
- Design and develop new features and services that drive key pillars of Menlo's technical roadmap and long-term vision.
- Evaluate, select, and implement technologies for API design, distributed systems, and high-performance asynchronous applications in a cloud environment.
- Build, deploy, and operate core components of the Menlo Security platform with a focus on scalability, availability, and resilience.
- Utilize AI pair-programming assistants and AI-assisted code review tools to accelerate implementation, improve test coverage, and streamline review cycles.
- Apply AI-assisted debugging and observability tooling to diagnose issues quickly in complex, distributed production systems.
- Partner closely with product managers, security engineers, and operations teams to refine requirements, prioritize work, and meet delivery schedules.
- Write and maintain high-quality documentation that supports both technical implementation and operational runbooks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that solutions meet security, compliance, and performance standards.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response activities to support production services around the clock.
- Continuously assess and introduce improvements in engineering practices, automation, and tooling to enhance team productivity.
Requirements
- Hold a BE, B.Tech, or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Bring 3-4 years of professional experience in cloud computing or related technical domains with a strong background in backend development.
- Demonstrate proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as Python, Go, C++, or Node.js.
- Show solid experience with Linux operating systems and foundational networking technologies.
- Have hands-on experience with core AWS services like EC2, S3, and VPC, or equivalent experience on GCP.
- Be comfortable using standard software development and collaboration tools including Git, Jira, Confluence, and CI/CD systems such as Jenkins.
- Exhibit strong skills in working with complex data structures and databases, including technologies like Redis, Postgres, MySQL, and Druid.
- Communicate clearly in writing and speaking, with attention to detail in both code and documentation.
- Be self-motivated and capable of learning new technologies and solving problems with minimal supervision.
- Be committed to ethical practices and demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive team environment.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with Linux boot processes, service monitoring, and networking internals, including protocols and system-level components.
- Familiarity with system internals and tools such as Tornado, C/C++, Go, systemd, Monit, Bash, cgroups, runc, libcontainer, and Docker.
- Experience adopting and improving engineering best practices such as test-driven development, continuous delivery, and agile scrum methodologies.
- Comfort with incorporating AI-assisted coding tools, including AI pair-programming and AI code-review systems, into a modern software development workflow.
