About the role

Melio is looking for a Data Scientist to join our team in Tel Aviv to build classification and anomaly detection algorithms. You will work alongside research engineers and analysts to apply machine learning and generative AI to help small businesses manage their finances.

What you'll do

• Design statistical and machine learning methods to improve financial management for small businesses.
• Develop agent-based workflows and LLM applications to enhance user interactions with data products.
• Build algorithms that support company growth through product network effects.
• Manage the full project lifecycle from initial concept to production deployment.
• Collaborate across functions to extract insights from complex data sets.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist.
• Practical experience with LLMs and agent-based frameworks, including prompt engineering, model evaluation, and API integration.
• Professional background in machine learning.
• Experience working at large-scale companies.
• Strong communication skills for managing cross-functional partnerships.

Nice to have

• M.Sc or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
• Experience with big data or entity resolution.
• Proficiency in Spark.
