Technical Project Manager - AI Compute & Data Center Infrastructure at Megaport.
About the role
Megaport is seeking a technical lead to manage the strategy and execution of high-density AI data center deployments. You will oversee the full lifecycle of complex GPU cluster projects, from initial site vetting to final operational delivery.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Evaluate floor plans, power distribution, and cooling architectures before site acquisition.
- Conduct technical due diligence on facilities to ensure they meet requirements for multi-MW deployments and liquid-cooled racks exceeding 100kW.
- Manage the end-to-end deployment of NVIDIA clusters, including physical implementation, cabling, and commissioning.
- Coordinate between internal groups such as Network Engineering, Procurement, and Facilities, as well as external vendors.
- Define project milestones, establish critical paths, and track schedule dependencies.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to spatial constraints, power capacity, and logistics.
- Maintain project documentation and provide status reports to executive leadership.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in technical project management within high-density or infrastructure environments.
- Proven track record of delivering complex hardware or data center engineering projects.
- Ability to read, interpret, and refine CAD drawings, rack elevations, and single-line diagrams.
- Familiarity with data center facility design, thermal management, and power delivery systems.
- Understanding of high-density AI cluster architectures.
- Proficiency in Jira and Confluence.
- Ability to drive accountability across internal teams and third-party vendors.
