Senior Product Manager, Data Products at Medidata Solutions.
About the role
This position leads the data product strategy for the Patient Experience portfolio, covering both patient and site-facing applications. You will build the data product function from the ground up, establishing vision and operational patterns while ensuring data is governed and consumed effectively across the enterprise.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Scale the data product function from its initial phase to full maturity by defining the operating model and roadmap.
- Manage the lifecycle of data generated by patient and site applications, from discovery to launch.
- Design data products with an AI-first approach, prioritizing agentic workflows and machine learning use cases.
- Translate requirements from clinical, commercial, and operations teams into technical specifications, contracts, and service level agreements.
- Establish standards for data quality, documentation, lineage, and observability.
- Ensure all data products remain compliant with HIPAA, GDPR, and GxP regulations.
- Influence enterprise data strategy and mentor peers within the product community.
Requirements
- 6+ years of product management experience, including 3+ years specifically in data products, platforms, or analytics/ML.
- Proven track record of building products or functions from 0 to 1 in ambiguous environments.
- Hands-on technical background in data engineering, platform engineering, ML engineering, or enterprise architecture.
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proficiency in modern data architectures such as lakehouses, streaming, warehousing, APIs, and data contracts.
- Strong SQL skills and experience shipping data products with measurable business outcomes.
Nice to have
- Experience in life sciences, clinical trials, or other highly regulated industries.
- Knowledge of clinical technologies like eCOA, ePRO, eConsent, DCT, CTMS, eSource, or wearables.
- Familiarity with clinical interoperability standards such as CDISC and FHIR.
- Experience developing LLM-powered features, RAG systems, or agentic workflows.
