Operations Engineer

About the role

Join our data center operations team to maintain the hardware and infrastructure powering platforms like Match, Plenty Of Fish, and BLK. You will handle daily system administration and physical site support to ensure our services remain available for millions of users globally.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Install and configure physical and virtual servers across production and non-production environments.
• Perform hardware break-fix and troubleshooting for network, storage, and server equipment.
• Document procedures, configurations, and solutions in our internal Wiki.
• Resolve technical issues independently through research and documentation.
• Manage after-hours on-call support duties on a rotating basis.
• Handle physical equipment, including lifting up to 50lbs.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a data center or systems engineering role.
• Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Experience with Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
• Hands-on expertise with HPE and Lenovo server hardware, including RAID, memory, and chassis maintenance.
• Ability to write scripts in BASH, PowerShell, or Python.
• Experience using AI tools like Glean or Claude.
• Ability to manage maintenance schedules and configuration changes.
• Strong focus on restoring hardware and software services quickly.

Nice to have

• Experience with Proxmox and XCP-NG.
• Familiarity with HPE Oneview and Lenovo Xclarity.
• Knowledge of data center physical infrastructure, including power, cooling, and cabling.
