About the role

Join the ML/AI Squad at Match Group's Everyone and Everywhere (E&E) division to develop and deploy advanced machine learning and AI solutions. You will work on strategic projects that directly enhance user experience and address critical business challenges for millions of daily users across a portfolio of leading dating products. This role involves close collaboration with data scientists, product managers, and other engineers to build the next generation of AI-driven features.

What you'll do

• Design and build AI prototypes that can significantly change user interactions.
• Work with product owners and data scientists to define requirements, then build and deliver production-ready ML/AI solutions.
• Contribute to initiatives involving Large Language Models (LLMs) to support business expansion and improve dating experiences.
• Write optimized, scalable, testable, maintainable, and observable code.
• Create scalable solutions for deploying machine learning models into production.
• Develop tools and pipelines for tracking models and experiments.
• Design and implement data pipelines to process large volumes of real-time data for models.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of ML models, including versioning, training, deployment, and monitoring.
• Maintain and operate algorithms, code, and models in production, monitoring for anomalies.
• Research new tools and technologies to accelerate development and release cycles.
• Establish best practices for the machine learning engineering role.
• Promote a data-driven culture and share your expertise within a collaborative environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in computer science or a related scientific discipline with significant engineering experience.
• At least 5 years of post-graduation experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, Software Engineer with algorithm experience, Data Scientist, or similar role.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience building and deploying ML pipelines and solutions in a commercial setting, collaborating with product owners, and deploying LLM solutions for business features.
• At least 3 years of experience supporting data scientists in developing, evaluating, and productionizing ML models.
• Extensive experience with deep learning techniques and tools like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Strong programming skills with a history of deploying solutions to production, demonstrating success in scaling and productionizing ML solutions and models.
• Solid understanding of mathematical modeling and statistics, including inference, Bayesian methods, graphical models, network theory, likelihood estimation, Monte-Carlo methods, and sampling theory.
• Knowledge of optimizing machine learning models through techniques like parallelization and batching.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new knowledge and techniques, and to think creatively about problems.
• Proficiency with standard SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with Python and its data science/machine learning packages.
• Capable of working independently on large projects or as part of a diverse team.
• Ability to understand the broader business context of your work and prioritize research accordingly.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other cloud providers.
