About the role
Hinge is seeking a Lead Researcher to join our Cultural & Consumer Insights team to guide our global communications and product marketing strategies. You will design and execute quantitative research that informs public-facing reports and helps us understand the evolving dating landscape for our global user base.

What you'll do
- Collaborate with communications and product marketing to transform broad strategic questions into precise, actionable research plans.
- Design and manage rigorous surveys that are both methodologically sound for public release and engaging for participants.
- Analyze data throughout the research process to keep stakeholders informed and involved in the narrative development.
- Lead high-visibility projects, including global consumer reports, international data stories, and feature sentiment analysis.
- Manage external research and strategy agencies by providing clear project briefs and strategic direction.
- Experiment with new survey formats and analytical methods to improve our quantitative storytelling capabilities.
Requirements
- PhD in a behavioral science field such as psychology, sociology, relationship science, behavioral economics, or communications.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-PhD applied consumer research experience.
- Deep expertise in quantitative survey design and the ability to produce data suitable for press coverage and thought leadership.
- Proven ability to synthesize complex cultural observations into clear, defined research questions.
- Experience translating data into accessible, compelling narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, low-ego environment across marketing and product teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with qualitative research methods like in-depth interviews or ethnographic observation.
- Background in cross-cultural or international market research.
