About the role

Join a specialized team operating as an internal startup to reinvent dating through AI-native systems. You will serve as the technical owner for this initiative, moving from initial product hypotheses to prototypes and pilots.

What you'll do

• Develop end-to-end product experiences including frontend, backend, agent workflows, cloud infrastructure, and internal tools.
• Architect AI-driven systems that interpret user intent, assess compatibility, and deliver personalized recommendations.
• Collaborate with product, design, and research teams to convert insights into functional prototypes and production features.
• Utilize modern AI tools to accelerate development while maintaining standards for privacy, reliability, and scale.
• Implement analytics, event tracking, and dashboards to measure engagement, retention, and product-market fit.
• Establish the initial technical roadmap and system architecture while acting as a strategic partner to leadership.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including time at a Staff, Principal, or founding engineer level.
• Proven history of shipping consumer products in fast-paced or startup environments.
• Full-stack capability spanning mobile, backend, data architecture, and infrastructure.
• Proficiency in mobile development frameworks such as React Native, Swift, Kotlin, or Flutter.
• Practical experience building and deploying AI-powered products for real users.
• Strong judgment regarding security, user privacy, and system observability.
• Ability to operate with high autonomy without fixed roadmaps or detailed specifications.

Nice to have

• Background in dating apps, social discovery, messaging, marketplaces, gaming, or subscription-based consumer products.
• Experience building AI-native features or consumer-facing AI products.
• Knowledge of recommendation engines, ranking systems, marketplace liquidity, or network effects.
• Prior experience as a startup founder or early-stage employee.
