Principal Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and build scalable, secure, and efficient systems for card issuing and payment processing.
• Write, review, and refine code within the core issuing and processing platform.
• Initiate and manage technical projects to enhance system performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Work with product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions across various product domains.
• Mentor technical staff and influence stakeholders to promote engineering best practices.
• Implement and advocate for modern software design principles to improve platform resilience.

Requirements

• A minimum of 12 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven ability in software design, fault tolerance, scalability, security, and test-driven development.
• Experience collaborating with product teams to deliver new solutions.
• Experience developing and scaling microservices using cloud technologies, with a preference for AWS.
• Experience with high-volume, low-latency data infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of security engineering principles and experience designing secure systems.
• Experience building systems deployed across multiple geographic regions.
• Ability to lead projects, contribute effectively as a team member, and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Familiarity with Java, Springboot, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Kafka, JPOS, and AWS services.

Nice to have

• A Master's degree in Software Engineering.
• Prior experience in payment processing or card issuing industries.
• Domain knowledge in authorization, clearing, settlement, tokenization, or ledger systems.

Practical notes

• Salary range: $242,400 - $303,000 annually for the National tier.
• Eligibility for annual bonuses.
