What you'll do
- Oversee the formal review of external marketing content, including advertisements and digital campaigns, to ensure compliance with regulations like UDAP/UDAAP and FTC advertising rules.
- Collaborate with Legal, Marketing, and other departments to secure necessary approvals and feedback for campaigns and product launches.
- Offer compliance advice to Product, Marketing, Legal, Sales, and other teams throughout the lifecycle of products and campaigns.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of US and Canadian consumer finance regulations such as Reg Z, V, DD, CC, B, and E, alongside industry standards and internal policies.
- Track and analyze industry trends and regulatory changes to inform Marqeta's compliance strategy.
- Assist with responses to regulatory inquiries and other compliance advisory tasks as needed.
- Identify and assess compliance risks associated with client-specific product structures.
- Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with banking partners and Marqeta customers.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory marketing compliance within the banking, financial services, or fintech sectors.
- Demonstrated experience with consumer protection regulations, including UDAP/UDAAP, Reg Z, E, and B, as well as advertising standards and industry best practices.
- Proven experience with Banking as a Service, either working with a regulated bank, a Program Manager, or in a similar capacity.
- Solid understanding of the bank and/or payments financial ecosystems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling effective collaboration across various teams.
- Strong attention to detail, with well-developed organizational and project management skills.
- Analytical capabilities and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with clear and direct communication style.
- Ability to manage a small team.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding, and rapidly evolving environment.
- Skill in logically prioritizing competing demands.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting bank partnerships, audits, and examinations.
- Familiarity with collateral review systems or tools such as Blee, Workfront, or Red Oak.
- Possession of a CRCM designation or a comparable compliance certification.

Practical notes
Compensation for this role is determined by location within the United States, categorized into National, Premium, and Premium Plus tiers.
National base salary range: $125,100 - $156,400
Premium base salary range: $136,600 - $170,700
Premium Plus base salary range: $147,900 - $184,900
Annual bonuses are awarded based on individual performance and company success.
