Senior Manager, Software Engineering

You will lead and grow the Credit onboarding engineering team, focusing on the development and modernization of core platform components. This position requires a proactive leader capable of managing complex technical environments while delivering high-scale, secure financial systems.

What you'll do

• Oversee the end-to-end platform responsible for new credit customer onboarding.
• Improve system resiliency, operational excellence, and scalability.
• Implement AI-first automation to optimize dispute classification, evidence handling, and task prioritization.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, Risk, Compliance, and Operations to define strategy and execution roadmaps.
• Mentor engineering staff to boost system reliability and development velocity.
• Define and enforce standards for documentation, testing, quality, and reliability.
• Manage planning cycles, sprint workflows, and technical decision-making processes.
• Recruit new talent and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 8 to 12+ years of total engineering experience.
• 4+ years of experience managing managers or senior engineers.
• Background in building and scaling distributed systems within cloud-native environments, specifically AWS.
• Experience with microservices architectures and high-availability systems.
• Ability to work effectively in regulated or compliance-heavy industries.
• Proven track record of improving execution discipline and engineering standards.

Nice to have

• Experience with credit products such as servicing, underwriting, transaction processing, or ledgering.
• Experience with multi-region architectures for platform resiliency.
• Masters Degree in Computer Science.
• Background in fintech.

• Salary range: 177,100 - 221,400 CAD.
