About the role
This leadership position will guide a team focused on developing and delivering innovative financial products to Fortune 1000 companies. You will also be responsible for nurturing and expanding relationships with Marqeta's most significant enterprise clients.

What you'll do
- Lead a team of 5 or more Account Executives and Account Managers targeting large enterprise clients and prospects across various industries.
- Create and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to meet revenue goals and grow the customer base.
- Identify, connect with, and cultivate strong relationships with key decision-makers within enterprise organizations.
- Work with internal departments like marketing, product, and customer success to ensure alignment with client needs and satisfaction.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Marqeta's offerings and effectively communicate their value to clients.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and manage the sales pipeline.
- Stay informed about industry shifts, competitor offerings, and customer challenges to adapt sales approaches.
- Foster a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and high-performing sales team through strategic direction, hiring, team structure, culture, and process improvements.
- Drive collaboration and alignment with partner teams including Vetting, Delivery, GNSO, Sales Strategy and Operations, and Banking Partnerships.
Requirements
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in enterprise technology sales and account management within the payments sector.
- At least 5 years of experience managing sales teams, with a proven history of developing high-performing Account Executives and Account Managers.
- Experience selling complex, multi-product technology platforms to enterprise clients.
- Deep knowledge of the Payments, Retail, Fintech, and Banking industries, with the ability to influence in complex environments.
- A demonstrated track record of achieving year-over-year new logo bookings and successfully increasing revenue within existing accounts.

- Marqeta operates on a Flex First model, allowing remote work or office-based work in Oakland, CA, or New York City.
- Employees located within 35 miles of Oakland, CA, or New York City (Midtown) offices are expected to work in-office 2 days per week.
- On Target Earnings (OTE) for this role ranges from $359,300 to $528,300, depending on the compensation tier (National, Premium, or Premium Plus) based on geographic location.
- OTE includes a combination of annual salary and variable compensation tied to individual and team performance.
