About the role
This position supports the advancement of mineral processing techniques, specifically for the CopperOne mine pilot facility. You will help move new mining technologies from lab research to full-scale commercial use. This is a hands-on, entry-level role assisting with bioleaching columns and other pilot equipment.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Operate and maintain pilot-scale processing equipment, including leaching columns, with technicians
- Plan and conduct pilot experiments under the direction of senior engineers
- Create and update essential process documents like PFDs, P&IDs, and operating instructions
- Examine experimental and operational data to find ways to improve processes
- Help create automated monitoring and optimization tools with software and machine learning teams
- Follow EHS procedures and assist with safety assessments and risk management
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, or a similar discipline
- 0 to 2 years of experience from internships, research, co-ops, or full-time positions
- Strong ability to solve problems and an interest in developing experimental processes
- Dedication to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and collaboration abilities
- Comfortable learning new skills and working with different teams in a dynamic setting
Nice to have
- Experience analyzing data with tools such as Excel, Python, or MATLAB
