Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Madhive operates a specialized platform for local media professionals to manage streaming advertising and audience targeting. We are seeking a senior engineer to develop and refine our full-stack systems while contributing to the growth of our advertising technology infrastructure.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain frontend and backend features with a focus on clean and maintainable code.
• Design user interfaces that provide clear visibility into platform performance and system behavior.
• Support distributed backend architecture, prioritizing operational excellence, data accuracy, and reliability.
• Improve observability by implementing monitoring, instrumentation, dashboards, and alerting systems.
• Build and process large-scale data pipelines and machine learning solutions relevant to AdTech.
• Author unit, integration, and end-to-end tests while improving overall testing coverage.
• Conduct code reviews and participate in technical decision-making processes.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to define project scope and deliver features according to schedule.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience as a full-stack engineer.
• Direct background in AdTech, specifically with inventory, supply, and bidding systems.
• Experience building and maintaining distributed systems, including work with Kafka or similar streaming technologies.
• Proficiency in backend development, ideally with Golang, though experience with other modern languages is acceptable.
• Ability to work with high-throughput, low-latency production environments.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and a commitment to quality assurance.
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with React or similar frontend frameworks.
• Familiarity with observability tools such as New Relic, OpenTelemetry, Sentry, or Looker.
• Practical experience or strong interest in machine learning and data science concepts applied to AdTech.

Practical notes

This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week on-site at either our New York City or Redwood City office. Compensation is determined based on individual skills, experience, and internal equity. We do not work with third-party recruiting agencies for this role.
