About the role
Mach, a defense technology company founded in 2022 with 350 employees, is developing autonomous defense platforms. We are seeking a Senior RF Engineer to lead the creation of next-generation defense technologies, including UAVs, missiles, and advanced weapon systems. This role involves significant interaction with senior leadership and collaboration across engineering and manufacturing teams.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Engineer advanced RF front ends and transceivers for new products, such as phased arrays, transmitters, and receivers.
- Apply deep knowledge of RF components like matching networks, filter synthesis, LNAs, Mixers, VGA, PLL/Synthesizers, and VCOs.
- Design, capture schematics, and lay out PCBs for RF transceivers and high-speed circuits.
- Implement strategies to minimize and troubleshoot EMI/RFI issues.
- Conduct design validation testing of prototypes and production designs using various test equipment.
- Contribute to integrating RF/Microwave designs into aircraft and other systems.
- Analyze in-field operational RF/Microwave performance data and identify improvements or debug issues.
- Assist in developing embedded software.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in RF design and development.
- Experience with fundamental RF concepts including impedance matching, smith charts, power handling metrics (IP3, IMD, Harmonic Distortion, Phase Noise), and microwave network analysis.
- Familiarity with at least one major RF circuit simulation tool: AWR MWO, Keysight ADS, or Genesys.
- Familiarity with Altium Designer and Matlab.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with antenna concepts.
- Familiarity with Radar concepts and design.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, autonomous, and demanding startup environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A solid design background with a history of problem-solving and embracing new challenges.
