About the role
Mach Industries is building autonomous defense platforms to enhance national security capabilities. This role manages quality processes for hardware production, ensuring that complex mechanical and electrical systems meet rigorous standards.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Execute inspection and quality assurance for mechanical and electrical assemblies across all production stages.
- Translate engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specs into actionable inspection criteria.
- Manage nonconformance investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, design, and supply chain teams to resolve production issues on the factory floor.
- Oversee MRB, calibration, inspection planning, and first article inspections.
- Maintain work instructions, MBOMs, and inspection documentation.
- Conduct supplier audits and manage incoming quality performance.
- Analyze production data to identify trends and implement preventive measures.
- Develop and improve the Quality Management System to meet AS9100 standards.
- Mentor junior staff and assist in scaling quality workflows.
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, or advanced manufacturing quality roles.
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
- Hands-on experience with CAD software and inspection data management tools.
- Experience managing nonconformance processes and root cause investigations.
- Background working in facilities governed by AS9100 or ISO9001 standards.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
Nice to have
- STEM degree or relevant technical coursework.
- Experience with First Article Inspection and Report (FAIR).
- Background in NPI or scaling low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing.
- Expertise in avionics, wire harness fabrication, composites, vehicle integration, or precision machining.
- Proficiency with CMM programming, Hexagon, or Faro scanners.
- Knowledge of IPC 610/620, MIL standards, or NDE/NDT methods.
- Familiarity with SPC, Jira, MES, ERP, and Teamcenter.
