Propulsion Program Planner

About the role

Mach is seeking a detail-oriented planner to manage the lifecycle of advanced propulsion systems in San Luis Obispo. You will bridge the gap between engineering, manufacturing, and external suppliers to ensure hardware development stays on schedule from initial design to final production.

What you'll do

• Manage the end-to-end planning of propulsion hardware builds, covering design release, manufacturing, testing, and integration.
• Convert technical specifications, drawings, and bills of materials into execution plans.
• Create and track integrated schedules and material readiness plans to meet production milestones.
• Oversee supplier workflows for components including castings, forgings, thermal systems, and turbomachinery.
• Assess manufacturing capacity, lead times, and supplier readiness.
• Identify schedule risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Lead material readiness reviews across internal departments and supply chain partners.
• Facilitate prototype development, qualification testing, and the transition to full-scale production.
• Manage configuration updates, engineering changes, and material impacts.
• Ensure all processes comply with ITAR and aerospace quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in aerospace, propulsion, defense, or complex hardware development.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
• Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing methods such as machining, fabrication, and mechanical assembly.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and external vendors.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.

Nice to have

• Background in jet engines, turbomachinery, or rotating hardware.
• Familiarity with high-temperature alloys and thermal systems.
• Experience with rapid prototyping and New Product Introduction.
• Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, ITAR, and FAR/DFARS requirements.
• Experience with engine testing or capital equipment programs.
