Lyra Health provides mental health care services to over 20 million people. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop backend services that power our AI and machine learning features.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Develop backend infrastructure to support scalable and high-performance product features
• Manage and deploy applications within production environments
• Collaborate with data scientists, therapists, and product managers
• Write code daily to build and maintain system components

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience delivering production-ready software
• Proficiency in Java and Python
• Experience building production-level RESTful APIs
• Background working with relational and low-latency databases
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes deployments
• Ability to manage priorities and balance technical quality with project timelines
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional alignment

Nice to have

• Experience with async Python frameworks like FastAPI
• Knowledge of data streaming via WebSockets or Server-Sent Events
• Understanding of machine learning principles and production model inference
• Experience with Protobuf
• Background in AWS cloud infrastructure
• Experience handling sensitive data within the healthcare sector
