About the role
Lyra Health is seeking a senior engineer to develop the infrastructure and services that power our mental health care platform. You will focus on building systems for machine learning and generative AI that support our mission of providing evidence-based care to millions of users.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Develop backend infrastructure to ensure our AI solutions are scalable and resilient.
- Create and maintain services that deliver machine learning and generative AI features.
- Deploy and manage production applications.
- Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and clinicians to solve complex problems.
- Write code daily to support the Lyra Empower platform.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience delivering production-ready software.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Experience with async web frameworks like FastAPI and data streaming via WebSockets or Server-Sent Events.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes deployments.
- Background in working with relational and low-latency databases.
- Experience building RAG-based AI solutions.
- Ability to configure and maintain vector databases.
- Familiarity with LLM orchestration tools such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
- Experience integrating foundation model APIs including OpenAI, Anthropic, or AWS Bedrock.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with graph databases like Neo4j or AWS Neptune and GraphRAG implementations.
- Knowledge of LLM observability tools such as Langfuse for tracking latency and token usage.
- Experience with Celery.
- Proficiency in defining and using Protobuf messages.
- Production coding experience in Java or Kotlin.
- Background in building on AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Experience handling sensitive data within the healthcare sector.
