Job description
About the role
Senior Financial Data Analyst
Lyft exists to serve and connect people through mobility. Our purpose is to build a work environment where every team member belongs and has the chance to grow. This page describes a specific role that supports that mission.
Position overview
The Senior Financial Data Analyst owns the full Run the Business financial reporting lifecycle. You will lead the Reporting sub-team within Finance Data & Insights, ensuring that key financial reports are accurate, complete, and operationally reliable each day. The role has two core objectives. First, create repeatable systems, documented playbooks, and clear workflows that reduce reactive work. Second, own primary stakeholder relationships for RTB reporting and act as the main point of contact across teams. This is a high-visibility position that blends hands-on reporting ownership with team leadership and process improvement.
Location and engagement
This role is based in Toronto, Canada. It is a full-time position.
Compensation
The annual compensation range is $130,000 to $160,000 CAD.
Responsibilities
You will manage all RTB and compliance reporting, including items such as tax, airport, and audit requests. Accuracy, completeness, and operational reliability are required. You will design and maintain process documentation, checklists, and operational playbooks so that reporting workflows are repeatable and resilient. When Finance Data Products stabilize reports, you will receive those outputs and integrate them into daily RTB operations. You will replace ad-hoc, fire-drill responses with documented, recurring workflows and clear review checkpoints. Identifying and driving automation across reporting steps will reduce manual effort and recurring ad hoc tasks. You will own primary stakeholder relationships for RTB work, communicating clearly and consistently across teams. Leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives is a key part of the role, from problem definition through execution, with regular updates to stakeholders and management. You will proactively monitor reporting pipelines for risks, gaps, and opportunities, then drive initiatives to resolve them before they escalate.
Required experience and skills
You hold a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree and bring at least 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, business, consulting, or analytics. You are proficient in writing SQL against large, complex data sets, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience. You have owned high-stakes reporting processes such as tax, regulatory, or audit reporting in fast-paced environments. You can create process documentation and playbooks that scale across teams and reduce manual work. Experience using dashboarding and BI tools such as Tableau is required, along with a basic understanding of data warehouse concepts and modern data stacks. You have a track record of managing stakeholder relationships and leading cross-functional initiatives with limited direct oversight. Familiarity with tools such as Github, Terminal, and DBMS development is preferred.
Development and mentorship
You will guide junior analysts and help them grow by providing clear feedback and mentorship. This includes structuring work, reviewing outputs, and supporting career development within the team.
