Senior Software Engineer

About the role

LYA Collective is seeking a senior backend engineer to join an early-stage startup. You will work with high autonomy to architect secure systems from the ground up while maintaining rigorous code quality standards.

What you'll do

• Architect and develop secure backend services for an enterprise identity platform.
• Manage API design for web and service-to-service communication, along with database schema modeling.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to define the product roadmap.
• Operate distributed, high-availability systems that meet enterprise reliability standards.
• Apply security best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Create technical architecture and design documentation based on product requirements.
• Help shape engineering culture and participate in team hiring.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience building backend systems with Go.
• Background working in early-stage startups (seed through Series B).
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in API and database schema design, specifically with SQL and Postgres.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with observability tools including metrics, alerting, and request tracing.
• Background in identity and access management or fintech.
