About the role
Luxury Presence is a Series C proptech company generating $100M in annual recurring revenue. We are seeking a hands-on manager to lead our Maps and Search team, which maintains high-traffic systems handling one billion requests monthly. You will guide a senior team while remaining deeply involved in code, architecture, and the integration of AI-driven development workflows.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Manage the team lifecycle including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and career development.
- Contribute directly to the codebase through design reviews, architecture planning, and debugging.
- Oversee the performance, latency, and reliability of search systems supporting hundreds of millions of listings.
- Enhance the home discovery experience across web and mobile platforms to improve lead conversion and agent workflows.
- Integrate LLMs and intelligent ranking models into search and user discovery features.
- Collaborate with product and design leads to define the technical roadmap and ensure reliable delivery.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including senior or staff-level roles.
- 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
- Background in search, relevance, ranking, or retrieval systems.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and React.
- Experience operating scalable microservice architectures in cloud-native environments, preferably AWS.
- Knowledge of GraphQL, event-driven systems like Kafka, and databases including PostgreSQL and OpenSearch.
- Experience maintaining high-traffic, low-latency production systems, including incident response and SLO management.
