Director, Software Programs

About the role

Lucid Motors is seeking a leader to oversee the software program management function within our Technical Programs division. You will ensure that complex vehicle software is delivered on time and within scope by managing cross-domain integration across our entire vehicle portfolio.

What you'll do

• Manage the Software Programs function, encompassing Infotainment, Controls, Connectivity and Cloud, Mobile, Cybersecurity, and Release Management.
• Recruit and mentor a team of software program managers and technical program managers.
• Develop and implement an operating model for program management that defines clear roles, responsibilities, and escalation protocols.
• Create processes for resource balancing, capacity planning, and prioritization across software domains and vehicle lines.
• Define software release content and sequencing to align with vehicle milestones.
• Represent the software organization in executive governance forums and cross-functional decision-making.
• Monitor software program health, identify delivery risks, and execute mitigation strategies.
• Partner with the VP of Software and the Sr. Manager of Software Integration to synchronize development strategy with vehicle program requirements.
• Collaborate with Product, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Product and Technology Integration, Vehicle Testing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Service departments.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading software program management functions in a complex, cross-functional environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale software portfolios and delivery roadmaps.
• Experience building and scaling high-performing technical program management teams.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, including integration and release management.
• Ability to bridge the gap between technical software development and vehicle-level program milestones.
• Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders such as engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
