About the role
LPL Financial is seeking a leader to direct the enterprise Azure strategy and manage a team of Senior Cloud Engineers. This position focuses on building secure, automated cloud services while partnering with architecture, security, and business teams to modernize workloads.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Define the Azure roadmap and cloud-adoption program.
- Mentor and develop a team of Senior Cloud Engineers.
- Collaborate with business units to plan cloud migrations and modernization.
- Configure Azure landing zones, management groups, policies, and access controls.
- Implement infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments.
- Create self-service capabilities for internal teams to deploy cloud resources.
- Manage compute, storage, networking, containers, and disaster recovery services.
- Integrate Azure AI, OpenAI, and Copilot to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure all cloud solutions align with security, audit, and regulatory standards.
- Apply FinOps principles to manage forecasting, cost allocation, and optimization.
- Track engineering backlogs and project progress using Jira.
- Manage service workflows and incidents through ServiceNow.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience leading enterprise cloud-adoption or platform engineering programs.
- 5+ years of experience in Azure architecture covering storage, networking, containers, and monitoring.
- 5+ years of experience designing Azure landing zones and implementing governance via policies and RBAC.
- Proficiency in infrastructure as code and automation tools like Terraform, PowerShell, or GitHub.
- Experience managing cloud migrations and workload placement.
- Knowledge of cloud risk management and security compliance.
- Understanding of cloud financial management and cost optimization.
- Experience with Jira for technical delivery and ServiceNow for service management.
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to have
- Experience in financial services or highly regulated sectors.
- Proficiency with Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Arc, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
- Background in building internal service catalogs or self-service platforms.
- Familiarity with Agile, DevSecOps, Site Reliability Engineering, and product management.
- Relevant certifications in Azure architecture, security, DevOps, or AI.
