About the role

Loop is an AI-native company building a logistics data platform to modernize global supply chain operations. We are looking for an engineer to join our systems team to manage the underlying architecture as our platform volume grows.

What you'll do

• Define architectural strategies to ensure platform scalability and collaborate with product teams to refine their designs.
• Manage observability for high-load systems by improving performance monitoring to identify potential issues early.
• Resolve critical performance bottlenecks and production incidents with permanent solutions.
• Anticipate future scaling limitations and lead large-scale infrastructure migrations to prevent system failures.

Requirements

• Ability to work from our San Francisco office at least 4 days per week.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional software engineering experience focusing on backend, platform, or infrastructure systems.
• Demonstrated history of scaling production systems and managing significant load growth.
• Deep technical proficiency in at least one of the following: PostgreSQL, Node.js performance, or AWS cloud infrastructure, with working knowledge of the others.
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to influence architectural decisions across various teams.

Nice to have

• Experience leading large-scale architecture migrations.
• Background working with high-throughput data or complex workflow systems.

Practical notes

• Compensation includes a base salary of $145,000 to $205,000 annually, plus equity.
