AI Content Engineer

About the role

LlamaIndex is looking for a technical engineer to lead our narrative on document understanding through hands-on experimentation and writing. You will build benchmarks and run tests to produce high-frequency technical reports that demonstrate our platform capabilities to the developer community.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Create and manage benchmarks focused on document parsing and comprehension
• Write and publish technical content including tutorials, blog posts, and comparative reports on a weekly schedule
• Monitor the document AI field to identify new research, models, and competitive techniques
• Conduct experiments and convert results into public-facing technical documentation
• Build open-source notebooks and examples
• Work alongside the ML team to identify and showcase new product features
• Interact with developers through technical writing rather than event attendance

Requirements

• Professional software engineering background with production-level Python skills
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts such as NLP, computer vision, or multimodal learning
• Proven ability to produce clear technical writing at a fast pace
• Ability to analyze and summarize academic research papers quickly
• Self-directed work style with a focus on shipping results
• Experience delivering high-volume output in fast-paced settings

Nice to have

• Background in document AI, transformer architectures, or vision-language models
• A public portfolio of tutorials, technical blogs, or documentation
• Experience creating evaluation frameworks or benchmarks
• Familiarity with table extraction, layout analysis, OCR, or document structure
• Existing activity in AI or ML developer communities
• Practical experience with RAG systems and LLM applications
