About the role
This role focuses on enhancing operational efficiency and strategic execution within a major engineering department. You will partner with leadership to refine planning processes, track objectives, and manage program delivery, all while championing an AI-native approach.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Oversee the department's planning framework, including goal cycles, review preparation, and roadmap management.
- Lead weekly execution meetings, ensuring clear agendas, pre-reads, documented decisions, and follow-ups.
- Develop strategic materials for company-wide presentations, team events, and executive reviews.
- Consolidate department documentation into a central, reliable repository.
- Transition the department's operational systems from AI-assisted to fully AI-native.
- Facilitate collaboration across different departments and functions.
- Manage the intake and prioritization of incoming requests for the department.
- Identify and resolve organizational friction points and communication breakdowns.
- Prepare and validate materials for leadership review, highlighting potential risks.
- Lead high-priority projects from initiation to completion, such as strategy analysis or build-vs-buy evaluations.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years managing programs, with a history of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong technical understanding, enabling informed technical decisions and influencing roadmaps.
- Proficiency with engineering tools like Jira and Linear, and AI tools such as Claude and Cursor.
- A Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to automate tasks using AI agents and manage their quality, while maintaining oversight.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Practical notes
- Salary range for US-based candidates: $140,000 - $209,000 USD.
- Salary range for Canada-based candidates: 163,000 CAD - 194,000 CAD.
- Compensation includes base pay, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
