About the role
Life360 is seeking a Lead Decision Scientist to join our Product team. This role is critical in shaping product direction and driving business growth through data-driven insights. You will act as a key advisor to product and engineering leaders, translating complex data into actionable strategies.

What you'll do
- Serve as a primary analytical partner for product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, identifying opportunities and challenges within product roadmaps.
- Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to diverse audiences, influencing strategic decisions and resource allocation.
- Apply causal inference techniques, including A/B testing and advanced statistical methods, to understand user behavior and product impact.
- Develop and refine metrics frameworks that accurately capture user experience and business objectives within a complex product ecosystem.
- Integrate AI tools into daily workflows to enhance analytical capabilities and contribute to the development of an AI-native analytics infrastructure.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in analytics, data science, or decision science within a consumer technology company.
- Hold an advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as economics, statistics, operations research, or possess equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience applying causal inference methodologies in real-world scenarios.
- Demonstrated ability to influence product and business strategy with data-backed recommendations.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python or R for data analysis and statistical modeling.
- Experience with experimentation platforms like Statsig or Optimizely.
- A strong problem-solving approach, with the ability to structure ambiguous challenges before applying analytical tools.
- An ownership mentality, taking responsibility for work from initial framing to impact assessment.
- An AI-native working style, utilizing AI tools as a collaborative partner for tasks and analysis.
- High levels of curiosity and initiative in exploring data and uncovering insights.
Nice to have
- Experience with subscription or freemium business models.
- Familiarity with analyzing international markets.
- Experience contributing to analytics engineering workflows, such as building dbt models.
- Background in growth, retention, or lifecycle analytics.
- Experience with LTV modeling, incrementality testing, or marketing mix modeling.

Practical notes
- Salary range for US-based candidates: $133,000 - $195,000 USD.
- Salary range for Canada-based candidates: 147,500 - 173,000 CAD.
- Compensation includes base pay, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, 401(k) with company match (US) or RRSP with DPSP (Canada), Employee Assistance Program, flexible PTO, and learning & development opportunities.
